Wizkid returns the favour, performs ‘Manya’ with Davido

 

It was bound to happen. Many anticipated it.

Not a few eyebrows would have been raised if it did not come to pass, especially after their public show of love on Christmas Eve.

Davido, after making a surprise performance at Wizkid’s concert, invited the Starboy to his much-hyped 30 Billion Concert.

On Wednesday night, the pair performed ‘Manya’, thrilled the audience, goofed around and shared an embrace.

Remember Mo’Hits Crew? Home to the one-time biggest artistes in Nigeria?

The crew came full circle on Wednesday night at Davido’s 30 Billion Concert which held at the Eko Convention Center, Lagos.

Don Jazzy, D’banj, D’Prince, Dr Sid, Wande Coal, Kay-Switch, Ikechukwu all came together to the delight of fans.

Davido had earlier announced that he had a “loud” surprise for his fans, and as it would turn out, no one expected a Mo’Hits reunion.

While introducing them to the stage, the singer said it took two months to seal the onstage reunion.

The crew performed old hits like ‘Booty Call’, ‘Pere’, among others.

This is the first time the Mo’Hits crew will be performing together on stage since their split five years ago.

The crew were also seen cracking jokes inside elevator outside the show.

Wizkid, Davido Settle Rift On stage, Perform Together

The rivalry between Nigerian top artistes, Davido and Wizkid seems to be over.

Both artistes reconciled after Wizkid, during his concert at Eko Convention Center in Lagos, brought Davido on stage.

The very unexpected happened during the show, Davido joined Wizkid on stage ending almost a year of purported beef and subliminal messages. Davido performed his recent hit single “FIA” with Wizkid on stage with him.

This shocked fans as they were screaming to see them in peace perform on stage.

Recall that Davido, while receiving his award at The Future Awards Africa 2017, had said that he is not fighting anyone in the industry as many believe.

Also in an Interview with Sunday Scoop, Wizzy, as he is fondly called made it known he does not see Davido as a rival as his attention is placed on making good music.

In his words;

“I don’t dwell on things like that. Music is my focus, not rivalry. It’s all about making good music for me, and I believe that the sky is wide enough for all to fly. This year has been very great for me and I am thankful to God and all my fans. I have been very busy and it has been a roller-coaster for me. I don’t take it for granted, and I will always put my best into all that I do. It is about showcasing Nigeria to the world in the proper light, and I am glad that there is now more focus on African music. There are indeed a lot of talents out here.”

Davido and Wizkid since beginning of the year have not been seen performing together at any show. Their reconciliation brings to an end what many folks tagged as “The Battle of Supremacy”. It has also been described as the perfect gift for Nigerians during this fuel scarcity period.

Stop correcting my English if you don't want to be cursed - Nollywood Actor Jokotoye warns fans

A Yoruba actor Bigval Jokotoye has called onto followers on his Instagram page warning them to stop correcting his English Language. 

The actor who acknowledged that he knows he speaks bad English noted that he would lay curses on anyone that tries to correct him.

 In a video he shared on his page, the actor noted that English language his not his first language, stating that he is a Yoruba man that was brought up in a Yoruba household. He said he doesn’t need anyone to correct him.

Jokotoye who stated that he did not go to school further expressed that English language does not determine or measure people success. He noted that not all the people correcting his English are successful. 

The actor who lost his father at a very young age was unable to further his education after his father’s death. He started making use of his God’s given talent in other to make a living. He played guitar and made music. He started his acting career in 1987 at a church drama group in Erin-Ile Kwara state. Jokotoye really delved into acting professionally in 2001 after his father died.

Senator Dino Melaye’s appearance in a new music video by Afro trap star, Kach, titled Dino has got Nigerians drooling mixed reactions on social media.

The senator, who had earlier posted a teaser of the video on his Instagram handle. His appearance which is first of its kind showed the senator alighting from a white convertible car with ‘legend’ inscribed on his t-shirt.

The music video is titled 'Dino' and the lyrics are centered on balling with 100 dollar bills and popping champagne bottles. Interestingly, the video which was shot in a luxurious house with expensive cars. Nigerians are not too pleased that a serving senator got involved in a video and reacted on twitter.

World’s Most Expensive Earrings Cost $57m

A pair of diamond earrings have been sold at auction in Geneva for a record-breaking price of $57.4m (£44.4m).


The pear-shaped jewels, nicknamed Apollo and Artemis, are almost 16 carats each.

The flawless stones mined in South Africa are perfectly matched except for their colour – Artemis is pink, and Apollo is blue.

Sotheby’s chief auctioneer David Bennet said that coloured diamonds are extremely rare “show stoppers”.

“These are in their own right extraordinarily rare stones, but taken together they are unprecedented, they are absolutely stunning,” he said.

The earrings were bought by an anonymous buyer, media reports say, but will be kept as a pair.

Apollo and Artemis differ in one crucial area – their respective prices. Apollo sold for $42.5m while Artemis went for $15.5m.

The pure vivid blue of Apollo – from the Cullinan mine in South Africa – is rarer, and therefore worth more than the intense pink Artemis.

The BBC’s Imogen Foulkes in Geneva says the earrings were the stars of Geneva’s spring jewellery auction and Sotheby’s initially offered them separately, after they wrongly assumed that a buyer with the wherewithal for both might actually be rarer than the diamonds themselves.

But the earrings sold some way below their estimated prices of $70m.

Atiku reaches out to Buhari over son’s accident

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has commiserated with the family of President Muhammadu Buhari over the bike accident involving Yusuf Buhari, the president’s only son.

Abubakar, who expressed his condolences on Twitter, wished Yusuf a speedy recovery.

Garba Shehu, senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, confirmed that Yusuf broke a limb and had a head injury in the accident which occurred in Abuja on Tuesday night.

Shehu, however, said he was in a stable condition after undergoing surgery at a clinic in Abuja.

“Our thoughts are with the first family – our family will be praying for you. We wish Yusuf a speedy recovery,” Atiku wrote on Twitter.

Gov. Bindow condoles with President Buhari family over son's accident

Gov. Muhammadu Bindow of Adamawa, has condoled with President Muhammadu Buhari and his family on the motorbike accident involving Yusuf Buhari.


Bindow in a statement he signed on Saturday in Yola, said his family and the people of Adamawa received the news of the accident involving the president’s son with shock.

“We are indeed touched by this unfortunate incident because as a people, Adamawa State is related with your family; anything that touches the family of Mr President touches our dear hearts.

“We, therefore, wish to express our heartfelt sympathy on this unfortunate incident and may God Almighty grant him speedy recovery,” Bindow said.

Lagos State Police has arrested two teachers of a primary school in the Amuwo Odofin area of the State for allegedly defiling a 6 year old pupil.
The arrest was made after the pupil was caught kissing her brother’s private part while they were playing together.

Man sold everything to raise money for his wife's cancer surgery in France. They boarded EgyptAir flight MS804

EgyptAir flight MS804 with more than 66 people on board crashed during a flight from Paris to Cairo.

Among the dead was a husband and wife who sold everything to pay for life saving cancer treatment and now leave behind their three young children as orphans.


According to the Egyptian newspaper Marawy, 31-year-old Ahmed Ashery sold his family's flat and car to raise money so his wife Reham could undergo cancer surgery in France.

The couple left their young son and two daughters with his mother and spent a month in Paris, where Mrs Ashery had surgery and seemed on the path to a full recovery. They boarded Flight 804 on Wednesday night excited to be reunited with their small children but the plane never made it back to Cairo.

"Ahmed sold everything to save his wife and ease her grief," said Mohamed al-Shenawi, a family friend. "I advised him to accept the command of God and look for treatment in Egypt but he insisted on travelling. They spent a month and then they returned onboard the plane which didn't arrive and now will never arrive."
